Camp kid4kid Haiti 2015

Camp Dates: July 6th – 14th

We are proud to announce our second annual Camp Kid4Kid as a success!

2015 Camp Kid4Kid was a success! A HUGE Thank You to everyone who helped make camp happen by donating, praying, and supporting us.

We would also like to say thank you to everyone on our team! Everyday, our wonderful encouragers (counselors), spent every moment putting courage in the children and spent one on one and one on three time with the children.

Thank you for your willingness to get up and meet the children's needs everyday. Camp would not have been same without you!

We had 11 older children accept Jesus as Lord and saw a lot of growth in others who had recently become Christians. We have 3 young men who want to be Pastors and they are doing a great job living their faith in front of the other children.

Each camp session lasted 2 and a half days. The children arrived on a school bus and we immediately welcomed them with tshirts and candy. Going to the beach is a rarity for the children, and some in our last group had never been at all. As soon as we helped them get settled and took the camp picture, we got them to the beach and began teaching them how to swim.  They had the time of their lives! The first evening with each group we had a bible study. Our theme was “Crowned.” We wanted the children to know they each are kings and queens in Christ. We introduced Esther and shared her story of an orphan who was an average woman but had a big calling on her life. She was faithful to God and her people and God blessed her life and efforts. We encouraged each child to understand they have a purpose in life. God has big plans for each of them and as they trust Him, He will direct their lives.  Bible study was followed by a crown craft so each child could have their own crown as a reminder of who they are in Christ.

The night was full of candy, glow sticks, and fun.

Day two began with bible study and the story of Jesus.  We were able to utilize a fold out story of Jesus in creole from Memory Cross.  It was a great tool and the children loved it.   Each child was able to keep their tract so they can remember the story of Jesus and what He did for them.   It was amazing how God spoke to the teens and children through this simple tract. The day was full of games, water balloon fights, large bubbles, and of course swimming. The children were able to play and have fun all day without any worries. We ended day two with the Jesus film in creole.  It was a great resource to be able to share with the children as they could watch the life of Jesus.

As day three came around, we wanted the children to leave on a happy note.  We supplied each child with a new Kid4kid backpack along with candy and toys. It was amazing to see how a few days of freedom filled each child up.

Join us in praying for the children year round as the children are getting ready for school. They were all excited to have their new backpacks and some school supplies.
